Zen Practice is Just Sitting

In Zen you often here that meditation is nothing special, and then you hear, it is nothing special but it is something. If there is a goal that a person has when doing Zen Meditation that goal is, no goal. It may seem that Zen practice will bring you deep and all knowing enlightenment but that is not it at all. Once you attain it it will then seem like what you have attained is nothing special, it is something yet it is nothing special. So what is the point? The practice of just sitting is everything and complete at each moment, there is nothing beyond that to strive for. We are already enlightened so meditation only helps us to express what is already our true nature. Practice week after week, year after year and without thinking about anything.
